How do I work this DC electric motor that I took out of a treadmill?

I know nothing about electric motors and little about currents and such.
I took the motor out of a treadmill and only know;
Amps: 18
RPM: 6700
CW rotation (I don’t know what that means)
2.5 Horse power
and that it apparently has an external fan [...]
